EVO ICL, or Implantable Collamer Lens, is a vision correction procedure designed to treat refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Unlike LASIK or PRK, EVO ICL does not reshape the cornea. Instead, a biocompatible lens is placed inside the eye to correct vision while preserving the cornea’s natural structure.

EVO ICL offers several distinct benefits for patients seeking freedom from glasses and contact lenses. Unlike laser-based procedures, the EVO ICL lens can be removed or replaced if necessary, making it a flexible vision correction option. The EVO ICL procedure begins with anesthetic eye drops to ensure patient comfort. A small incision, approximately 2.8 millimeters in size, is made at the edge of the cornea. The Collamer lens is then carefully inserted into the eye and positioned between the iris and the natural lens.

No stitches are typically required because the incision heals naturally. The entire procedure generally takes between 15 and 30 minutes per eye, and most patients return home the same day.

Following surgery, patients are usually prescribed medicated eye drops to reduce inflammation, prevent infection, and support healing. Most patients rest for a few hours after the procedure and resume light activities the following day.

Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor healing and confirm proper lens positioning. While many patients notice improved vision almost immediately, full visual stabilization may take several weeks. Most patients experience significantly improved distance vision with reduced dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
