Dr. Michael Murri’s Experience:
Dr. Murri was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley where he was awarded Valedictorian of Alta High School. He then completed his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University as a Presidential Scholar. His medical school training was completed at Baylor College of Medicine with Alpha Omega Alpha honors followed by ophthalmology residency at the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah where he served as a chief resident. He completed his fellowship in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the University of Colorado Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Center where he also studied LASIK, PRK, ICL, and SMILE surgery at the United States Air Force base in Colorado Springs, CO.
During his medical education, Dr. Murri has received numerous awards and has authored many publications from his extensive research efforts. He has participated in international educational and humanitarian trips to Singapore, Ecuador, Nepal, and Tanzania and serves on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Young Ophthalmologist International Committee. He also provides volunteer eye care to our local Navajo Nation.
Dr. Murri is fluent in Swedish and proficient in Spanish. He is a songwriter, violinist, and avid snow and water skier. He enjoys spending time with his wife Allie, three sons and two daughters.
